Learn How to Buy a Home at an Auction
The most important task that you need to do when you’re planning to buy an auction property, is that you need to investigate and do some research! If the property is a single property that went into foreclosure, try to get some information about the house. Try to know about the house’s size, what are the basic facilities does the house have, was there any previous owner and who owned it. The most important part you need to know is the opening bid. You may even cross check with local title company or with the county’s recorder for list of houses which are currently in foreclosure. Before you buy the property or the house, you must know the property’s value; therefore you have to compare the sale prices of two such similar properties in that particular locality. In order to predict the property’s value, try comparing houses which are within 3 miles of the house which is been auctioned. Try to find what kinds of amenities does the house have; such as number of bathrooms, bedrooms, parking area, fireplaces, swimming pool, etc. This will help you to know about the value of the property.
Keep yourself financially ready, at property auctions you might need to deposit a minimum of at least $1000 to maximum of $5000. You may pay the remaining amount when you buy the house. You should always know to keep your price limit. People at auction are known to create excitement and agitations, so more the crowd, the more likely the price to increase! Keep yourself stuck to the price which you have targeted and don’t get carried away. You have to be prepared to just walk away if you think the property or the price doesn’t satisfy you. If you feel if there is a bidding war among the bidders then try to stay away, as your bid will only shoot up the tension. So once the bidders have dropped out you may slowly get in.

Government Repossessed Cars – Buy Cheap Used Cars at Government Seized Auto Auctions
Well the truth is, government repossessed cars are truly being sold at a greatly reduced price. However, you must understand that all these cars are second hand or used cars and their value has depreciated since the day it left the showroom, thus the low pricing.
Another reason why the prices are low at these government seized auto auctions is that it cost money to maintain and store these cars. And there are always many cars seized and repossessed by the government. To make room for more, cars have to be attractively priced and thus often sold at 90% off the current market value.
Many government agencies regularly conduct auctions, and most are general. Meaning, the auction is not only about cars, but everything else that the government has in surplus, as well as all seized and unclaimed properties.
Most government auctions have a 2 day viewing, allowing you to inspect the car of your choice in detail. The catch is that you don’t get to test drive any unit, but you can start the engine and base your judgment on the sound of the engine running.
Most vehicles will start at low price, but some bidders may tend to drive the price too high because of aggressive competition. If this happens to anyone of your interest, it’s best to drop it.
You must always keep in mind that these units are second hand, and the price should be reasonably cheaper. After winning, you can have the option of paying in cash or installment, although cash buyers receive additional discount.
If you are on a budget, then buying second hand cars at government seized auctions is certainly a good choice.

Selling of Property in an Auction
Speed
If a person wants to sell the house quickly, property auction is considered best. The timeframe is much shorter compared to real estate agent.
Price
In property auction the seller may get a much better price through competitive bidding. The bidders may increase the price of the property.
Integrity
Through this method the final price will be decided and there would be no chance of negotiation.
Marketing exposure
The property will be marketed in local and national newspaper. With the help of internet the interested buyers will know about it.
Chance of success
The property auction zone is able to sell about 90% of the lots offered. If the seller wants a particular sale value then he should go to the auctioneer.
Competitive bidding
Competitive bidding is done so that the prospective buyers can bid against each other.
Through competitive bidding, the seller can get the best price.
No fall-through
Once the hammer has been hit the buyer is legally bound to buy the property and cannot change his mind.
No re-negotiation
Re-negotiation cannot be done once the property has been sold. The buyer should have seen the property before taking part in the auction.
Continuing tenancy income
In investment properties, the vendor will be receiving rent till the auction date and after that the purchaser will be receiving income.
Open house viewing days
The auction team sets a day when the prospective buyers can have a look at the property and their questions can be answered. The auction team will know who are the prospective buyers and it will be helpful in setting up a reserve price.
If this process is followed then the property can be sold very quickly; first the auctioneer is called who will help the seller in knowing the process of selling. The auctioneer will tell him about the necessary paper work that is needed, like the tenancy rights, architectural plans etc. Then the auctioneer will make a marketing material and show it to the seller so that he can approve it. The material can be viewed on the website or in local newspapers and national newspapers. The open days are kept when the prospective buyers can come and have a look and ask any queries related to that property. On the auction day the time is allocated for the event to take place. The bidding takes place between prospective buyers and who does the highest bidding; the property would be sold to him. The sale document is signed and a 10% amount is deposited. The selling process is completed.
In today’s world, online auction is the easiest method. The prospective buyers do not have to visit places; they can know where the auction is taking place through internet.

Ebay/Paypal.seller can’t claim money I sent?
She sent me an email saying she can’t claim the money I sent (and it does show unclaimed), and she wants to sent me a new invoice to my email, and send the payment again.
Has this ever happened to you?
I’m confused, and I’m not sure why it happened.
It wasn’t a credit transaction. The cash was transferred from my checking account to my paypal account. It’s supposedly something on her end not allowing her to claim the money…she said it happened with her other buyers as well.
She said she’s been registered since 2006. I’m just trying to make sure that she’s not scamming me; since this has never happened to me before

How to Search for Unclaimed Money in Louisiana
The reason why such large sums of unclaimed money are lying with Louisiana and the other states is that most people don’t know about the unclaimed property laws. Louisiana, like all states, has an unclaimed property database that is easy to search. If you should find your name on the list, or that of a family member or a friend, you will find easy to understand and clear cut instructions on how to go about making your claims.
Perhaps you are still struggling to recover from Katrina, or maybe looking for a way to ease the current economic stress. Either way, unclaimed money lying with the government is not doing you or anyone else any good.
Take a little time and search for what may rightfully be yours. A small amount can make a great present to yourself and a large amount may turn your life around!
All you have to do to find and search for Louisiana Unclaimed Money is enter your name in an unclaimed money search. The results should come back within a minute showing you how many unclaimed money records are owed to your name. Then all you have to do is look through those records, see which ones are yours and send in a claim form.
Depending on which state or federal agency is holding your money you will need to provide some proof of identification like a copy of your drivers license, birth certificate or other form as proof of your identity and entitlement to the missing money.
After the claim form is sent in you should get a check in your hands within 2 to 12 weeks. Good luck on your missing money search!

How long will it take for me to be reimbursed?
I made a payment to an eBay seller via Paypal a couple of days ago. The amount was taken from my debit card. But the amount remained unclaimed for several days and the seller says that she hasn’t received the payment yet. So I canceled the payment and opted to pay with the funds that I transferred from my bank account. At the time that the seller was paid, the funds from my bank account were in the process of being transfered.
So how long would it be until the money gets transferred back to my debit card?

Security deposit: Certified mail unclaimed?
I moved out of my apt. on July 28, and I have done everything by the books, including sending my forwarding address via certified mail to my old landlord. I used the address where I was sending all of my rent checks – taht were, of course, cashed. However, the mail came back as “unclaimed.” Now what? Will I have a case against her – or does this prove she never got my forwarding address to send the money? I live in Indiana, and we have a 45 day rule. I’m on day 37 and haven’t heard anything from her. Suggestions?
